Marlborough and Pewsey Judo Club
                        Club Rules 
Marlborough and Pewsey Judo Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well being of all its members.
The club is a registered member of the British Judo Association, (club number 1130 and is fully insured.
We operate within the practices and policies of the British Judo Association in regard to the standards of welfare, first aid, child protection and student
development.
The club believes that it is important that members, coaches, administrators and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare ofothers.
Therefore, members are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with either the Coaches or the Club Welfare Officer.

As a member of Marlborough and Pewsey Judo Club you are expected to abide by the following
club rules:

* All members must hold current British Judo Association memberships and it must be renewed on an annual basis to insure you have the necessary insurance to practice.
* Parent are welcome to stay and watch, but we do recognise that from time to time parents may
vary the collection arrangements for their child it is important that you make their coach aware if
someone other that you will be collecting them.

RESPECT:
* All members must play within the rules and respect their Instructor or club officials and abide by their decisions.

* All members must respect the coaches their training partners and opponents.

* Always listen to your coach

* Members should keep to agreed timings for training or inform their coach if they are going to
be late.

* Never leave the mat area without asking permission from Coach in charge first.

* Always bow to your partner when starting or finishing practise.

* Always bow when stepping on/off the mat area (Tatami)

* Practice only these techniques that are
  appropriate to your age, aptitude and ability and   more importantly that of your partners.

* Seek when ever possible to practice with higher graded opponents.
HYGIENE/ ATTIRE:
* Members must wear suitable kit, which is clean and in good condition.
* The wearing of hard or metallic objects is
   prohibited whilst training or competing (rings,
   bracelets, chains, earrings, studs and sleepers.

* All Finger/ Toe nails will be short and clean at all times.

* No footwear to be worn on the judo mats. Appropriate footwear should be worn to the mat edge from the changing rooms.

* Female members should also wear a plain white    T-shirt (no V-necks) under their Judogi top.

*Long hair must be tied back with a soft scrunchie   (remember no hard objects!)

* Only wear socks on the mat if you have a foot  
    infection, e.g. verrucas
BEHAVIOUR:
* Actions such as kicking, punching, hair pulling or    scratching will NOT be tolerated.
*Members are not allowed to smoke on the  
  Leisure Centre premises.
* Members are not allowed to consume alcohol or    drugs of any kind on the club premises or whilst
   representing the club.
* Avoid chewing gum or any other form of food in    the mouth while on the mats.
* Obey the Dojo rules relating to first-aid  
   treatment of injuries.
